How do you create your own music using the sounds and interactive tools in SoundJunction? | |
The interactive music tools in SoundJunction allow you to pick from a huge variety of different sounds and use them to create your own music. Register with the site to save and share your compositions.
Use the Explorer tool to pick out your sounds and then the Composer tool to make them into music. Or you can use the sounds in the sample library. Watch the demo movie below or scroll down for more instructions.
In the Explorer, use the 'Expand' buttons to access instruments and voices

Use the 'Focus' buttons to listen to individual instruments on their own

Select the bars of music you want to use to make your own composition

Copy them to the clipboard

And then switch to the Composer, where you can drag the music from your clipboard to make up new compositions

Or try the clipboard library for a wide range of samples: hip hop, D&B, broken jazz and more. To access the library, show the clipboard and then click 'Library'.

You can do this from any page with an Explorer or Explorer close-up. Or just go straight to the Composer tool to use sounds from the clipboard and library.
Try experimenting with the African sounds in the song Moving Away, or the orchestra playing Emerging Dances, or the jazz big band and voices in the song Where will it take you?
If you have difficulty getting the Explorer tool to function correctly, go to Explorer tool troubleshooting.
