THERE'S A famous story about Charlie Watts, drummer with the Rolling Stones, who used to play jazz gigs in north London with double-bassist Dave Green before the Stones were formed back in the 1960s. Neither Watts nor Green had a car, and somehow managed to carry their kit on a bus.
